Identifying and investing in creative, new ideas that tackle pressing social issues in DC
Through our Bright Idea Challenge, 18-35 year olds submit proposals for social ventures that tackle a pressing social issue in Washington, DC. The two most promising ventures will share a prize package of more than $50,000 in funding, services, and resources.
Our Community Lab grants provide funding and pro bono management consulting to help small non-profits in Washington, DC innovate.

Pairing professional journalists from The Washington Post with low-income high school students
Aya Community Markets
Providing fresh and nutritious food and economic development opportunities in Ward 7
Living Images In My World
Putting students in the role of a historian to engage them in the history around them
Moms on the Move
Equipping single mothers in Anacostia with tools and resources to live healthier lives
